Safety Information#
The following safety instructions, general precautions and regulations concerning handling and the operating environment must be closely observed to ensure the safety of personnel, the integrity of the product and the proper operation of the system.
Warning
User Responsibility
Compliance with all the safety regulations in this section is mandatory and the responsibility of the end user. Failure to do so may result in personal harm, damage to the equipment or jeopardise system operation.
Operational safety#
Integration with robotic systems#
Warning
Cell safety requirements
FlexiVision One works in close collaboration with third-party robotic systems. The user must ensure that the work area is equipped with all necessary safety measures set forth by the relevant standards.
Warning
Caution during operation
When operating the system, always take into account:
Physical dimensions of the robot and the FlexiBowl®
Trajectories and speed of robotic movements
Possible unexpected situations (dropping parts, pick-up errors)
Danger zones during FlexiBowl® handling phases
General precautions before interventions#
Warning
Power disconnection
Before carrying out any maintenance, modification or inspection work on the system, always make sure that:
All power sources are disconnected (VisionController, FlexiBowl®, Camera, Illuminator)
The pneumatic supply is discharged and disconnected (if present)
Connection cables are physically disconnected
The robot is in safety mode or completely switched off
Warning
Safety procedures
Do not rely solely on switches: use lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures when available.
Modifications and tampering#
Warning
Prohibition of unauthorised modifications
Never modify the product or its components without the express written consent of ARS S.r.l.
Warning
Consequences of modifications
Unauthorised modifications may:
Cause system malfunctions
Invalidate the warranty
Create risks of injury, electric shock or fire
Compromise product safety certifications
Arrangements by the customer#
Without prejudice to any different contractual agreements, the following arrangements are normally the responsibility of the Customer:
Category |

Required for assembly and installation. |
Lubricants |
Necessary for starting the machine. |
Pneumatic supply |
Suitable as specified in the ‘Technical Data’ paragraph. |
Handling |
Suitable lifting and handling equipment. |
Permitted environmental conditions#
The system is designed for indoor use only, protected against the elements and aggressive agents. The environment must not be ATEX classified.
Parameter |
Permissible limit |
|---|---|
Ambient temperature |
5 ÷ 40 °C |
Relative humidity |
5 – 90% (non-condensing), max. variation 0.005 p.u./h |
Ambient lighting |
Neon light |
Dust |
Absence of excessive, abrasive or combustible dust |
Vapours and gases |
Absence of corrosive fumes, oily vapours, explosive mixtures |
Vibrations and shocks |
Absence of abnormal vibrations, impact or shocks |
Thermal fluctuations |
Maximum 5K/h |
Other exclusions |
Salty air, bad weather, nuclear radiation, unusual storage conditions |
Warning
Environmental conditions other than those specified may cause serious damage to the machine and void the warranty.
Important
The work surface must be adequately lit. In the presence of shadowed areas or uneven lighting, it is the user’s responsibility to provide suitable lighting devices.
The machine is designed and built to work safely in the following environmental conditions:
Permitted environmental conditions |
|
|---|---|
Ambient temperature |
5 ÷ 40 °C |
Humidity range |
5 – 90% (non-condensing) |
Environmental lighting |
Neon lights |
Warning
Environmental conditions other than those specified may cause serious damage to the machine. Positioning the machine in environments that do not match the specified requirements voids the warranty for parts to be replaced.
Important
The work surface must be adequately lit. If shadowed areas or uneven lighting are found in the workplace, it will be the user’s responsibility to provide suitable lighting devices.
Environmental conditions and protection#
Protection from liquids#
Warning
Risk of contact with liquids
Do not use the product in environments where the VisionController, camera or other electronic components may come into contact with:
Water drops or splashes
Oils, lubricants or other industrial liquids
Condensate or excessive moisture
Conductive dusts
Note
Solutions for critical environments
If the system needs to operate in environments where liquids are present, provide adequate protection (IP65 or higher enclosures) and consult the ARS Technical Service for customised solutions.
Operating temperatures#
Warning
Hot surfaces - Maximum temperatures
Under intensive use or hot environments, some system components can reach high temperatures:
VisionController: up to 50°C on exterior surfaces
LED illuminator: up to 40°C on front surface
Industrial camera: up to 50°C on metal housing
Warning
Customer’s responsibility
It is the customer’s responsibility to:
Record thermal risks in the risk assessment
Train personnel on procedures to avoid accidental contact
Provide warning signs where necessary
Ensure adequate ventilation of components
Environmental installation and storage conditions#
Note
Environmental requirements - Reference table
To ensure durability and reliability, the VisionController and the camera must be used and stored under the following conditions:
Parameter |
Operating conditions |
Storage conditions |
|---|---|---|
Temperature |
+5°C ÷ +40°C |
+5°C ÷ +40°C |
Relative humidity |
<90% (non-condensing) |
<90% (non-condensing) |
Note
Additional precautions for the environment
To preserve the integrity of the components:
Do not expose to direct sunlight
Protect against excessive vibration during storage
Keep in a dry and dust-free place
The camera is sensitive to mechanical shocks: handle with care
