Safety Information#
The following safety instructions, general precautions, and rules concerning handling and the operating environment must be strictly observed to ensure personnel safety, product integrity, and correct system operation.
Warning
User responsibility
Compliance with all safety rules listed in this section is mandatory and is the responsibility of the end user. Failure to comply may cause injury to personnel, damage to equipment, or impair system operation.
Operational safety#
Integration with robotic systems#
Cell safety requirements#
Warning
FlexiVision One operates in close connection with third-party robotic systems. The user must ensure that the work area is equipped with all necessary safety measures required by the applicable regulations
Attention during operation#
Warning
During system operation, always take into account:
Physical footprint of the robot and FlexiBowl
Trajectories and speeds of robotic movements
Possible unforeseen situations (falling parts, picking errors)
Hazard zones during FlexiBowl vibration phases
General precautions before interventions#
Disconnecting power supplies#
Warning
Before performing any maintenance, modification, or inspection work on the system, always make sure that:
All electrical power sources are disconnected (VisionController, FlexiBowl, Camera, Illuminator)
The pneumatic supply is discharged and disconnected (if present)
Connection cables are physically disconnected
The robot is in safety mode or completely switched off
Safety procedures#
Warning
Do not rely exclusively on switches: use lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures when available.
Modifications and tampering#
Consequences of modifications#
Warning
Unauthorized modifications may:
Cause system malfunctions
Void the warranty
Create risks of injury, electric shock, or fire
Compromise the product’s safety certifications
Environmental conditions and protection#
Protection against liquids#
Risk of contact with liquids#
Warning
Do not use the product in environments where the VisionController, camera, or other electronic components may come into contact with:
Water drops or splashes
Oils, lubricants, or other industrial liquids
Condensation or excessive humidity
Conductive dust
Solutions for critical environments#
Note
If the system must operate in environments where liquids are present, provide suitable protection (IP65 or higher enclosures) and consult the ARS technical service for customized solutions.
Operating temperatures#
Hot surfaces - Maximum temperatures#
Warning
Under intensive use conditions or in hot environments, some system components may reach high temperatures:
VisionController: up to 50°C on external surfaces
LED illuminator: up to 40°C on the front surface
Industrial camera: up to 50°C on the metal body
Customer responsibility#
Warning
It is the customer’s responsibility to:
Document thermal risks in their own risk assessment
Instruct personnel on procedures to avoid accidental contact
Provide warning signs where necessary
Ensure adequate ventilation of the components
Environmental conditions for installation and storage#
Environmental requirements - Reference table#
Note
To ensure durability and reliability, the VisionController and camera must be used and stored under the following conditions:
Parameter |
Operating conditions |
Storage conditions |
|---|---|---|
Temperature |
+1°C ÷ +50°C |
-20°C ÷ +65°C |
Relative humidity |
<90% (without condensation) |
<90% (without condensation) |
Additional environmental precautions#
Note
To preserve component integrity:
Avoid direct exposure to sunlight
Protect against excessive vibration during storage
Keep in a dry environment free from aggressive dust
The camera is sensitive to mechanical shock: handle with care
Transport and handling#
Receipt and inspection#
Inspection upon arrival#
Note
Upon receipt of the product, before signing the delivery note:
External inspection of the packaging: Check the integrity of the box and external packaging. Check for any signs of impact, crushing, or wetting.
Content check: Compare the contents with the delivery note. Check that all ordered components are present.
In case of damage or discrepancies#
Note
If any problems are found:
DO NOT sign the receipt as “conforming”
Record the damage on the transport document
Photograph any visible damage
Contact ARS support immediately: service@arsautomation.com us.service@arsautomation.com if contacting from America
Handling and storage#
To prevent damage during transport and storage:
Transport#
Tip
During transport:
Always handle the packaging in an upright position (respect the “UP” arrows on the packaging)
Do not drop or impact the package
Use carts or pallet trucks suitable for the weight
Avoid sudden temperature changes
Storage#
Tip
During storage:
Store in a dry and covered place
Do not stack other loads on the packaging
Do not climb on or lean against the packaging
Respect the environmental conditions indicated in the previous table
Unpacking#
Tip
During unpacking:
Open carefully to avoid damaging the internal components
Keep the original packaging for any returns or future transport
Check that all accessories and documentation are present
Disposal and end of life#
Responsible disposal#
Warning
When the product reaches the end of its life cycle, it must be disposed of in accordance with the current regulations concerning waste electrical and electronic equipment (RAEE/WEEE).
Components subject to special disposal#
Note
Components subject to special disposal:
Electronic boards (VisionController): RAEE category 6
Industrial camera: RAEE category 6
